On January 29th, The Seafood Ristorante, owned by Stefano Pieraccini, held an event to celebrate new renovations and announce exciting news about the opening of a second restaurant under the same team in St Andrews. The night featured delectable seafood-based canapés, champagne, and live jazz from the outstanding Marianne McGregor

Over the winter months, the restaurant underwent some renovations to prepare for the upcoming season, which included new chairs and tables among other updates. The space features an open-concept kitchen, so customers are able to see behind the scenes, and a 360-degree view of West Sands, making for a truly one-of-a-kind dining experience.

This high-end restaurant is notorious in St Andrews for its high quality and locally-sourced seafood, which has earned it a place on the Michelin guide multiple years in a row. However, the restaurant is no-doubt on the pricier side, making it inaccessible to a large demographic of people.

Excitingly, the second venue opened by the same successful team will be created specifically with accessibility in mind. The new restaurant will be going into what is currently The Niblick on Bruce Embankment. During a speech given at the event, Pieraccini explained his observation that St Andrews has gotten increasingly expensive over recent years. For this reason, his goal in opening a second venue is to offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner at an affordable price point, but still maintain the consistency and standard he provides at The Seafood Ristorante.

Pieraccini believes that this type of mid-range restaurant will pair well with what he has already produced at The Seafood Ristorante, but at the other end of the market. He particularly hopes that the restaurant appeals to the local St Andrews community. While he was unable to announce the name of the restaurant just yet, stay tuned for more news to come.
