As holiday parties are quickly approaching, the question of “What to wear?” is always at the forefront of my mind. If you are anything like me though, sometimes the desire to stay warm on cold nights trumps any extravagant outfit plans. Even if I plan on wearing a glimmering sequin top or an eye-catching red dress, the layering of coats, scarves, and gloves can leave me looking less festive than planned.
The solution? Accessories. Specifically, hair accessories are not only perfect for the festive season, but can elevate any normal (and warm) look, making you ready for all kinds of celebrations.
Tied Up With A Bow
When I think of bows and ribbon I worry about looking too young or as if I’m wearing a costume. But these accessories have come back in a huge way in recent years with different prints and fabrics reinventing this classic accessory. This will definitly enhance something as simple as a black dress and, as always, match the ribbon on top of all the holidy gifts. With this accessory I recommend velvet ribbon for a more wintery look, and switching up a usual ponytail for tying a ribbon around a bun or adding it to a braid.

Sparkle and Shine
As always, the holiday season is not complete without a bit of sparkle and glitter. However, wearing sequins is not always the most practical choice on those cold winter nights. For this, I would recommend an eye-catching sparkly bobby pin. This is sure to make any look a little more chic, but still keep it effortless and fun. With bobby pins there is the choice of layering a variety of shapes or following the trend of word pins, which are a perfect way to spread some ‘love’ this season.

Holiday Headbands
Lastly, headbands are a classic accessory that can enhance any type of look. Although they are viewed as a classic, many recent styles like the jeweled headbands are reinventing them and making them very popular. For any type of holiday party or event, any of these reinvented headbands will be the only accessory you need. These headbands are truly open to experimentation and invite you to be as crazy and adventurous as you want.
