Every year the annual Venice Film Festival on Lido Island in Venice Lagoon marks the end of summer, with its celebration of exemplary films. While the festival has always celebrated an array of films, it has also become a time in which American movies are debuted for the upcoming award season creating star-studded screenings, events, and parties throughout the end of August into September.
Any occasion that showcases this many stars brings with it something just as exciting as the films themselves: red carpet looks. Let’s take a look at what this year’s film festival had in store.

Jacob Elordi arrived on the red carpet in a Bottega Veneta Tuxedo. While the tuxedo is a classic look for men on the red carpet, Elordi made an interesting choice with wide-cut broad shoulders, a longer waist, and looser trousers.

While there may be even more buzz about Emma Stone’s short hair, which she had to shave off for her role in Bugonia, than her outfit, the actress arrived in a stunning Louis Vuitton dress. While being minimalist, the dress flaunts a unique silhouette, making for an eye-catching red carpet look.

If Emma Stone was giving minimalism, Cate Blanchett most certainly was not. Blanchett dawned a floor length and feathery Maison Margiela, contrasted with simple hair and jewelry, and the classic Margiela tabbies.

Ayo Edbiri went for a bold red Chanel to mark her debut at the Venice Film Festival. The dress, matching the iconic shade of the red carpet itself, relied on draping and buttons to create this look for the actress’s first time in Venice.

Greta Lee may have stolen the show in this stunning forest green Dior piece. Similar to Blanchett, the dress was paired with simple jewellery and shoes, creating a stunning one of a kind look.

While people may perceive men to perhaps lack in creativity and flamboyance when it comes to red carpet looks, Colman Domingo most certainly is the exception. He stunned in this green Valentino jacket and black trousers.

Last, but certainly not least, singer, Halsey, appeared in a summery butter yellow dress from Nicol + Ford, an Australian label. The Art-Deco cutouts paired perfectly with her 1920s-esque bob and micro bangs.
