This review will be short, as I fear diluting the magnificence of the Aikman's curly fries. Having visited as part of the La Chouffe gnome party at 16:59 on Wednesday 25th September, I remain indebted to the staff for turning the fryer back on for the day’s final portion of the affectionately nicknamed ‘curlies’.
Note: Aikman’s curly fries (£3.00) are served until 23:30 each evening, with the exception of events.
Four hungry, Chouffe-gnome-hatted Aikman's enthusiasts sighed with content as the first audible crunch was taken. Unbelievably, these offer everything that I look for in a chip: a crunch on the outside without being too oily, a comforting potato softness and the intrigue over which unsuspecting chip will be the longest, the curliest, the crispiest…
Drowning in Heinz ketchup and Hellmans mayo, my only criticism is that this time around, we could not get a second portion.
For a daytime snack, I would propose that Aikman's curlies are good enough to replace human company. With this, I vow to return time and time again.
